As aging coal, oil, and nuclear facilities continue to close throughout New England, now is the time to build natural gas infrastructure and generating facilities. New England relies on natural gas to keep the lights on and our economy moving. In 2016, according to ISO-New England, natural gas fueled 49 percent of the region’s electricity. If these older facilities are not replaced, Rhode Islanders are in harm’s way, especially during colder winters.
